A U.S. Air Force veteran and former sculptor, Harrison Saunders became a dedicated student of gemology, faceting and gemstone collecting in 1982. It quickly became a passion. A true artisan, Mr. Saunders was not content to force a stone into one of the few established faceting formats. He would study individual stones, often for weeks or months analysing their shape and structure and probing the depth of their color, to uncover the complete range of beauty they had to offer. He would then design a cut specific to each stone, one that would extract the maximum amount of color, light and life and best present it to the viewer. You will find many unique cuts in this collection – each an artistic statement, each a true celebration of the stone itself.
